On January 13th we will release the 2nd version of WaveMaker Studio Cloud Edition beta. The primary improvements are:
– Tutorial – a new tutorial that has been updated specifically for the Cloud Edition. The tutorial will direct you through the steps to build a full application with multiple tabs displaying information from a database and accessing web services to validate the information in the database.
-Database isolation – In beta 2 each user’s database and data is unavailable to other users. Each account may have one or more HSQLDB databases that are stored with your project.
-Improved scaling – Users of WaveMaker Studio Cloud Edition beta 1 may have experienced performance degradation during periods of high demand. We have improved the deployment architecture for beta 2 to deliver consistent, responsive performance.
I want to thank all those people who used beta 1. In particular, I’d like to thank community member Malamut for his many comments and suggestions. The feedback has been most helpful. We’re working to provide solutions to the issues raised. Beta 2 reflects a step in that direction.
Users of beta 1 should be aware of the following:
The development database for WaveMaker Studio Cloud Edition is migrating from a single, shared MySQL DBMS to multiple HSQLDBs. As a result, databases will need to be recreated in beta 2.
The Tutorial uses predefined database, cmdb. To enable beta 1 users to follow the tutorial we will be refreshing your account to include your own copy of the cmdb database. Once beta 2 is posted, you will need to rebuild your projects and create new databases using HSQLDB. During the upgrade neither beta 1 nor beta 2 will be available. If you have information in your beta 1 project or database that you would like to retain, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
