WaveMaker Software and Cumberland Genetic today announced that they are delivering production livestock data collection systems for iPhone and Android using WaveMaker.
Most recently, Cumberland Genetic has built a web-based animal tracking application that runs on iPhone and Android using WaveMaker. This application is in use at companies like Genesus Genetics to improve sales order entry, inventory management and reporting for the largest registered purebred herd in the world.
Cumberland Genetic specializes in development of livestock data handling systems. The Cumberland Genetic application supports real-time inventory control and order management for their field sales operations. For the first time, sales people traveling to remote farms have instant access to inventory and sales order information.
Using WaveMaker, Cumberland Genetic was able to prototype a web-based system for their customer within 2 weeks and delivered the final product to them within 12 weeks. WaveMaker’s visual development platform enabled Cumberland Genetic to adopt an agile development methodology with frequent customer deliverables.
The new WaveMaker mobile application has helped increase sales while reducing errors. WaveMaker replaced a legacy system which combined a Microsoft Access reporting system with paper-based orders for field sales.
