The second DevBuild for WaveMaker 6.2 is now available. We’ve added a ton of features, upgrades, and bug fixes to this release, including:
Themes: You can now create themes for your applications, making it easy to change the styling of an entire application with one simple change. We received a lot of feedback from 6.2.0 regarding themes and have incorporated many of those suggestions into 6.2.1.
Dialogs: Lots of options for dialogs, tooled within Studio. Modal and non-modal dialogs, fully designed dialogs, rich text editor dialogs, toast dialogs, and many properties for controlling the behavior.
ListViewer Widget: Layout rows of a list using the page designer, providing full control to design powerful and rich UIs that display list of data. A grid is wonderful but sometimes you need something a bit different.
DojoGrid: The primary grid in 6.2.1 is the DojoGrid, which provides new features unavailable in DataGrid. (DataGrid remains, although you’ll find it in the “Deprecated” section of the palette.)
LiveForm: We’ve updated the functionality of LiveForm to provide a more robust UI, using the new editors released in 6.1.
Upgraded Infrastructure: Much of the infrastructure has been upgraded. Dojo 1.4, JDK 6, Tomcat 6, Spring 3.0.4, Ant 1.8.
Bug Fixes: At last count, ~70 issues have been fixed in 6.2.1; too many to outline here. See Jira for details.
All of the above features and enhancements have introduced some problems, which explains the “Under Construction” image associated with this post. Please proceed with caution when using this release. As a DevBuild, WaveMaker recommends against using this release for production systems. We are nearly done with the features for 6.2.x so will begin hardening the software in preparation for the Beta and GA releases. Please report issues you encounter; we’ll correct as quickly as we can.
